We uphold our nation’s core values: freedom, independence, sovereignty, unity, and democracy.
We firmly stand by the fundamental principles that define our nation: freedom, which ensures individual liberties and rights; independence, which asserts our autonomy and self-governance; sovereignty, which underscores our authority and control over our affairs; unity, which binds us together as one cohesive entity; and democracy, which guarantees the voice and participation of every citizen in shaping our collective future.
The United People’s Party recognizes the challenges that Sri Lanka faces.
UPP aims to address these challenges through a comprehensive approach that prioritizes sustainable economic development and social equity, good governance and anti-corruption, as well as ethnic harmony.
Sustainable Economic Development and Social Equity
To tackle this challenge, the party will focus on promoting inclusive economic growth through initiatives such as infrastructure development island wide, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and job creation programs. Additionally, investing in education and healthcare, particularly in underserved regions, will help reduce disparities and ensure that all citizens have access to essential services and opportunities for advancement.
Good Governance & Anti Corruption
We will prioritize anti-corruption measures, such as strengthening institutions responsible for oversight and accountability, implementing transparency reforms, and enforcing strict penalties for corrupt practices. Furthermore, promoting a culture of integrity and ethical leadership within the party itself sets up a positive example and inspire confidence among the populace.
Ethnic Harmony
United People’s Party’s focus on inclusivity plays a crucial role in fostering religious harmony, which, in turn, contributes to social stability, economic growth, and international engagement. By prioritizing inclusivity and respecting cultural identities in our policies and practices, Sri Lanka can harness the full potential of its diverse population and cultural heritage for the benefit of all its citizens.
